I really liked Rick Mercer's Rant from last night's Rick Mercer Report. So many young people don't vote, which just seems ridiculous. Why would anyone not want a say in who runs our country? And yet so few students go out and vote, so our issues are not being addressed. As young people we hold the power to affect change in our country, so please go out and vote in the upcoming election.

I'm really busy with a few school things this week, so I'm not sure when I'll have a chance to post. It likely won't be until the weekend, so I thought I'd leave you with this beautiful song and animation. I stumbled across it a while back and never got around to sharing it, but now is a good a time as ever. Have a good week!

In case you were unaware, today is March 14th (ie. 3.14).
That means it's Pi Day!
Since the next three digits of pi are 159, the math society at Waterloo serves free pie at 1:59 pm. It's a fun (and delicious) tradition here at UWaterloo. I celebrated with a delicious piece of apple pie. And tonight I helped prepare the dough for an apple pie that will be baked tomorrow. It shall be the most delicious pie I've ever tasted, because I put my heart into making it. So good!

This video makes me daydream of romance and happy endings. When I was younger I never would have considered myself a romantic, but I've slowly realized that I definitely do want romance in my life. However, I want to be swept off my feet in a way that is fitting for me and not necessarily taken out of a fairytale or chick flick. I'm looking for the boy who will read me Dr. Seuss, send me snail mail, and take me hiking. Is that too much to ask for?

On April 1st I will be participating in the St. Jerome's Relay For Life. For those unfamiliar with the event, it is a night of fun, friendship and fundraising to beat cancer. As a group of university students we have banded together to raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. Cancer is something that has touched the lives of many, so I am honoured to be spending a night raising money for such a wonderful cause. I will be walking in memory of love ones lost, in celebration of those who survived their battle, and in support of those still fighting.
This is where I need your help! If every blogger donated even a few dollars to cancer research just think of how much money we could raise!
If you would like to help me reach my goal by donating just click this link. I really appreciate any donation that you can make, because every dollar helps.
Join me in the fight against cancer!

I'm participating in Awkward & Awesome Thursday along with Sydney over at The Daybook again today!
+ The weird noises that stomaches make when you're hungry. And the many ways people deal with it when it's their stomach making the crazy sounds.
+ When people suggest that I date the boy who is basically my brother or assume I have a thing for him, especially when they try to argue with me about it. Why do people think they have better insight about my love life than I do?
+ Running out of my floor meeting to go yack. And then trying to return like I hadn't just fled the room five minutes prior.
+ Realizing that I can't find my stats notes anywhere, meaning that I either lost them in my prof's office, the visitor's centre when I dropped off an application, or my astronomy classroom. Ugh. Hopefully I can locate them tomorrow.
+ People in classes that are willing to let you borrow their notes or send them to you. These wonderful people make me feel better about sleeping through my 8:30 class when I was feeling super sick. And way less stressed about having a lecture that overlaps with a tutorial.
+ Checking out the many ways to wear polka dots over at Everybody, Everywear. It's even more fun when you join in the fun, which I made sure to do even though I couldn't snap a photo to share.
+ How creative a friend of mine was about Facebook creeping, because even though it was slightly terrifying it was also fairly impressive.
+ That my poinsettia is still alive and well, even though Christmas is long gone.
+ A meal consisting of chicken fingers, onion rings, and raspberry sherbet. It was nice to have a delicious (though unhealthy) meal since I was feeling way better today.

A friend of mine posted a link to an online art contest, and while sifting through some of the submissions I stumbled across a gem. I do not know the artist of this beautiful piece, but I do know that it took my breath away. You can find out a bit more about the piece on its submission page.

Today I was featured over at anything imaginable. My mind is still blown that somebody actually wanted to interview me, but it was really cool. Pop on over and check it out!
And if you're a new reader connecting from my interview over there I'd like to welcome you to my blog! I always love new readers and followers. Leave a hello in the comments so I can check out your blog too.
Thanks for featuring me, Gina!

Well today I thought I'd tell you a bit more about him and some of his cool projects around the internet.
Brendan is one of my fellow residents here at St. Jerome's, but this is not where we met. I've known Brendan since grade seven, when we were campers together at grade seven leadership camp. We've been friends ever since, and as luck would have it we ended up attending the same university and living in the same residence! I'm grateful for this, because it was nice to have a shoulder to lean on while I was away at school. Plus I've known him for so long that he feels like family.
In the past year Brendan has started a few different projects around the internet, all of which are worth checking out.
He's recorded some of his music and posted it onto his MySpace page.
He keeps a vlog over on YouTube, which also includes a fair bit of music.
He's also the Ontario half of OntArizona, which is basically the formation of a YouTube friendship via vlogs to one another.
And he's one of the ramblers over at InformedRamblings.
He's done a bit of writing on a blog he has through the nerdfighters site.
And he has a tumblr.
Here's his first YouTube video, which features this incredible song he wrote that always makes me cry.

Here's a few highlights from the month that just flew by...
I had some wonderful playtime in the snow one Saturday evening early in the month. The night was complete with fort building, rolling down a hill, and munching on snow. So much fun!
Valentine's Day brought me plenty of cards and candygrams from amazing girls within residence. Plus the house dinner that night in residence provided me with an excuse to get dressed up and drink a mocktail.
The first bit of my reading week was spent up at the cottage, which was a blast. I did some skating, snowshoeing, zumba, hiking, snowboarding, and lots of family games and movies before I arrived back home on Wednesday. Unfortunately I have no photos of those really awesome things though. However, I loved being forced to bundle up with this scarf while lounging inside, because I discovered it's super cozy. And I finally had a chance to head into town for a haircut.
I also had some fantastic hangouts with high school friends over the last few days of my reading week. I walked and talked with Casey, spent time with Greg and a few of his ridiculous friends, and had some quality time with Aaron. The photo below is from my night with Greg. Aren't we cute?
What fun things were you up to in February?
